Have you ever seen two diamond rings, one almost colorless and the other one light yellow? Did you wonder why?

Color is the second most important factor when choosing a diamond, that you want to buy. Diamonds are valued by how closely they approach colorless to being the less color, the higher their value.

D-E-F colorless “transparent”

G-H-I is almost colorless

J-K-L-M faint yellow

N-O-P-Q-R very light yellow

S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z light yellow

Diamonds that are completely colorless like D and E are rarer than others, which is why their price is so expensive. The shape of the diamond also affects the indication of its color degree. For example, a round diamond hides the color yellow significantly, but the oval and longitudinal shows more color and reveal it easily.

Diamond color is a personal preference and never indicates quality. However, there are a number of tips to follow when purchasing a color-related diamond.

1. For colorless diamonds of D and E degrees, the difference is hardly noticed by the naked eye, so we recommend purchasing E-class diamonds as you will save a lot in the price of the diamond that you will buy, unless you are a diamond expert, you will go to D without question.

2. If your budget is limited and you want to buy a diamond, choose G /H color, it is on the border between colorless diamonds and diamonds with a slight color dye. But be sure not to compare it with whiter and higher color diamonds.

3. Upon purchase we advise you to commit to obtaining a GIA certificate for color grades, so that you can know the exact color, since some diamonds can appear whiter when viewed from above but their true classification is lower.

4. Diamonds classified as K and L are recommended to be placed with yellow gold or rose gold jewelry.
